ugo rondinone: sunny days

Guild Hall presented works by the renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone in the exhibition, sunny days, featuring sun-themed sculpture and paintings, as well as a collaboration with area school children. The exhibition, exploring the sun as a motif and metaphor, was divided into three parts: paintings, sculptures, and a community art project, your age, my age, and the age of the sun.

Taking the lead from Rondinone and his studio, Anthony led workshops with over 500 students from Hamptons schools, daycare centers, and after school programs to create depictions of the sun. The work was installed alongside other children’s work from Puerto Escondido and Leuven.

To celebrate the exhibition and the community’s involvement, Guild Hall hosted a Family Celebration. The day included multiple workshops, performances by the Hampton Ballet Theater School and Salieu Suso & the World Music Collective, a planetarium show with the Montauk Observatory, and a special visit from Ugo Rondinone and John Giorno.
